How Do Coin Operated Lockers Work?

Coin operated locks are a great alternative to traditional camlocks or hasp & staple locks. Locker keys are captive and you can only release them when the user inserts a £1 coin or token. You can only retrieve the £1 coin when the user unlocks the locker with the keys. The coin then drops in the dish ready to collect. This locking option is an effective way of making sure a customer or employee returns to their locker with the keys, so they do not go missing.

Where Can I Use Coin-Operated Lockers?

Coin operated lockers are popular for use in a wide range of environments.

Healthcare Environments - They are particularly suitable for staff in healthcare, the NHS or medical settings that are hygiene conscious areas. As all our steel lockers incorporate anti-bacterial protection. This means a protective coating is applied during manufacture which is proven to reduce harmful bacteria on treated surfaces by 99.9%. Bacteria includes E.Coli and Salmonella.

Gyms & Leisure - Coin-Op Lockers are a great choice for any gym, health club or sports changing facilities. Quite often camlocks can become a problem when there are multiple people using lockers every day. Keys can go missing and then you will need to order replacements. Installing a coin return locker is an incentive for users to keep hold of their locker keys. They must return to the locker to retrieve their £1 coin. This encourages them to take more care of their locker keys. Of course, if any keys do go missing, we are here to help and can provide replacement keys. You can also buy a master key which is always handy as a backup so you can unlock a compartment and release the pound coin.

Depending on the environment, we can offer coin op lockers for wet areas. Ideal for swimming pools, spas, gyms, health centres. The lock will not rust or corrode over time.

Offices – Use coin-op lockers in staff rooms where they may be a high turnover of employees. You may want to use a token system or £1 coins. This lock option is a great way to reduce missing locker keys.
