Low Lockers at Thornhill Junior & Infant School
3D Lockers recently supplied new school lockers to local Thornhill Junior & Infant School in West Yorkshire. The school has recently gone under renovation and interior development over the last five years to accommodate around 370 children. The school, which has 14 classrooms, contacted 3D Lockers with a requirement for new metal storage lockers for various areas around the school so the children can store their books, bags and coats in the locker.
Making sure classrooms and corridors are not a health & safety or fire hazard is essential in schools and academies today. Lockers for schools can fit into most spaces and come in a range of sizes and configurations to suit any layout. Personal items can be stored away safely to create an organized, safe and hazard free environment.
Our special low lockers were supplied with 3 doors, a popular choice with many primary schools as the locker height (1382mm) means younger children are able to reach to the top locker. Smart blue locker doors were chosen with a 300 x 450mm compartment size which gives enough space for coats, sports kits and books to be stored.
The primary school lockers were purchased in nests of 2 and 3 meaning the lockers are joined together in manufacture, saving on cost and installation time. Ideal if the lockers are placed in banks along corridors.
A hasp & staple lock was the chosen locking option which can be secured with a padlock, but as the storage lockers were for organization purposes and used by small children, the latch lock was sufficient. Furthermore, keys being lost or forgotten will not pose a problem.
